Hello, we received a restricted product violation that we believe is a misjudgment. Our product is just mouth tape for sleeping. Specifically, it is a six-pack of the same product for one hundred and eighty pieces. I have reviewed the restricted products and policies for our product, and I do not believe it falls under any category. Plenty of other mouth tape brands and listings on Shop currently all state the same product benefits. We have added hyperlinks for assistance through the write-up.
There are a lot of scientific studies that show the benefits of mouth-taping at night. Some include more restful deep REM sleep at night, better breathing through the nose, a significant reduction in snoring due to nasal breathing and correct bottom jaw placement all night, and a significant decrease in sleep apnea and CPAP usage. (Lee et al. 2022) The most important improvement nasal breathing can encourage is the shape of one’s face. Jaiswal et al., 2023 found statistical significance in the difference in head posture in mouth breathers compared to nasal breathers. Furthermore, there is a definite change in craniofacial morphology in mouth-breathing patients as compared to nasal-breathing patients. Mouth breather patients are generally associated with skeletal Class II pattern, vertical growth pattern, decreased anterior cranial base length, and decreased effective maxillary and mandibular lengths. In another study, Grippaudo et al., found that mouth breathing is closely related to increased overjet, reduced overjet, anterior or posterior crossbite, open bite, and displacement of contact points. Lastly, there are plenty of studies that show the increase of oxygenation and nitric oxide facilitation, two key factors in the recovery process for muscles, when you breathe through your nose as opposed to your mouth. The nasal cavities produce Nitric Oxide which is a vasodilator and smooths “soft muscle” found in the trachea, making it easier to breathe. We also want to state that our manufacturer is Athena Innovation Technology Co. located in the city of Shenzhen in the Guangdong Province of China. They are FDA approved as well as all their materials. The same materials that are used in our product are all FDA-approved.
